Turning 30.....

So today is my 30th birthday. Many people I know have turned 30 in the past year and their comments on Facebook were pretty much all the same... "I don't want to be 30".... "I am old now"... and a whole lot of  "   :(  " faces.  For me this birthday has been an eye opener.  Today I am in the best physical shape I have EVER been in!  I am 3 lbs away from being in the 160lbs weight range and I do not think I have been there since.. well.. maybe middle school... I have made a promise to myself to make this new year of my life my year of continued fitness, and to get my body looking like I never thought it would.  But it is not about being skinny! It is about being in the best shape/fitness level that I have ever been in... I am making it my goal here and now that by my 31st. birthday I want to have completed or be signed up to do a 5K... I know it isn't the grand daddy of all running competitions but I have never been much of a long distance runner. So for me it will be a start.  Please join me in choosing a goal for the next year of your life that is tailored to getting/being/or staying fit and healthy. Here's to being 30!!

For those who are just begining a Weightloss Journey

We all know that America is primarily obese. But did you know that America is rated the #1 Most Obese Country in the world?  According to NationMaster.com, America is 30.6% obese.  Five months ago I was part of that 30.6%.

In March when I started my own weightloss journey, I weighed in at 215 lbs.  It is not the most I have ever weighed ( at my heaviest I was 232 lbs) but I had worked hard a few years before to get down to 180 for my wedding in 2007, so I was pretty disappointed that I had lost track of myself and let my unhealthy eating habits and lack of exercise get me most of the way back to my heaviest weight. Not only that but I had totally burnt myself out working two jobs for 5 months over the fall and Christmas season, one job as a cashier and the other at a Day spa doing Massage.  My job at the Spa was not a very pleasant experience.  I had a boss who was a little to about the bravado and glamor, and not enough about what I could do for my client.  I was majorly stressed out at that job, and was dreading going into do a job that I LOVE to do.  So I ended up quitting the Spa.  Once I did that everything caught up to me and I felt so tired and sick for a few weeks, which lead into a really bad spell of depression. I would wake up in the morning only to get the kids ready and off to school, and then it was back to bed for Brandy. I had ZERO motivation!  I would sleep until about and hour or 2 before I had to be at work, go to work ( which was mostly closing shifts at the store), then go home and go back to sleep.

From January to March I gained 25 lbs! That"s right 25 lbs in TWO months!  My knees were bothering me, along with my ankles and the joints in my hands.  I was sick for 2 weeks, ok for a few days, and then I would get sick again for another 2 or more weeks. It was never ending!  So one day I went to get dressed on my day off and NONE of my jeans fit me.... WTF I thought... SERIOUSLY??? Amongst a slew of obscenities and a total hissy fit of throwing all my clothes all over the bed room....  That was my breaking point!! I just couldn't do it anymore. I hated who I had become, I didnt want to get out of bed, I didn't want to leave my house, didn't want my husband to touch me or even look at me for the most part. And what kind of role model was I being for my kids..... A crappy one!! I was so unhappy with me that I couldn't do my job as a wife and most importantly as a mom!

So I started looking up fitness pages on Facebook.  I ended up talking to this really excited chic (now my Upline Team Beachbody Emerald Coach, Jepardy Wagner!)  She was talking about the support she gets for her workouts with the Beachbody community, and I though hmmmm, I have some Beachbody dvd's that I have picked up hear and there and they are pretty fun! So I started talking to her a bit more and she told me about Shakeology ( which I will go into more about in my next post, so stay tuned!!) and how it helps you get the nutrition you need to get effect results with your workouts.  So I stewed over it for about a week and then I was like JUST DO IT! So I contacted Jepardy, and got the details and decide to become a Coach for the 25% discount on the Shakeology and on the Turbo Jam program.  Well with allot of hard work, and all the amazing support and accountability I have gotten from my Beachbody family I have lost 43 pounds! I am now in the best shape I have ever been in during my adult life!

So believe me when I tell you I have been there, I have felt the sadness, I have felt left out of my own life.  I have alienated myself from not only my family and friends, but from myself to hide the pain. But I put my foot down, and decided to make a change.  It was hard, trying, humbling, and rewarding all at once. And I will never be that girl again, I will be the real me for the rest of my life.

If you need help or motivation, or just some advice on how to start your weightloss journey, please contact me! My email address is coachbrandylmt@gmail.com.  If you are friends with me on facebook send me a message, or you can contact me via my website www.beachbodycoach.com/brandylmt.  I am now going to spend my life paying it forward and helping others who feel the way I felt find who they really are, and help them start living the life they should be living!
